I hand-troweled these walls with the help of my friend Karen to look like a slightly pitted, rough veined "chocolate" travertine. The photos aren't the greatest, but it turned out looking pretty darn cool. Some people really like their rooms to be a bit darker, almost cave-like...this finish pulled that off. The ceiling was hand-troweled slightly smooth and then painted with a iron rusted finish. All vents, lights, fixtures were also done in a rust finish to complete the look. I haven't been able to capture how it really looks in photos.
The frames in the photo were originally a bright white, I re-aged and stained them to go better with the room.
